CRR is in Young Scientists this year. The kids meet every Wednesday before school for a presentation and science related activity.
It’s gotten off to a very informative start. Week one was all about fish anatomy, last week was taking apart a computer, and this morning was learning about the heart. We got to see inside cow, pig, sheep and tuna hearts. Kind of gross for first thing in the morning, but also very interesting.
The one in the pic is a cow heart. Isn’t it huge?! They weigh an avg of 5lbs apparently, while the human heart is the size of your fist and weighs around 1lb. See, even I learned something.
Disclaimer: Calvin wasn’t really there, but I didn’t think parents would appreciate me posting pics of their kids on the internets without permission. I tried to replace with pictures that have appropriate facial expressions for the situation.
